Grip N Rip Tennis League Leagues for Fun

This is the ADULT instructions, the Juniors are written below

We would like to Thank Mike at Leagues for Fun. He is always updating his system, some instructions may change. If you see a problem please let us know.

A Password is necessary to enter the system. You will receive a password when the league starts. You will be notified by email

When you sign into Leagues for Fun you will be on your Profile Page (the Icon is in the Upper Right corner) This is your "Home Page" If you get lost somewhere in the system just click on the icon and you will return to this page. You will also see that the scheduled matches tab is highlihgted..

From this page you can access lots of information.

* The Yellowish Tabs pertain to your information and the Grip N Rip League

* The Icons in the Purple are for the Leagues for Fun Website and does not pertain to the Grip N Rip League itself. You can explore this on your own.

~ Edit- On this page you can edit any of your personal information and change your access password to Leagues for Fun. You must leave your phone number and email address shown for the Grip N Rip League to work. We are a web based league and need to see this in order to set up matches.

~More Information - This is just more information on you.

~ Availability- This is not anything you need to fill out. The Leagues for Fun network will show this information to anyone in their system. It allows visiting out of towners, with access the Leagues for Fun, the ability to call and set up a match with anyone in the system. Its best to disregard this page

~ Affiliations - Show what leagues you are affiliated with inside the Leagues for Fun system.

~ Scheduled Matches - This will show your scheduled matches. Not any matches you have played. This is where you would enter the scores of the matches you play. * For Entering & Group Name See below

If at anytime you click on a name of a player on your list you will be on THEIR profile page (including email and phone numbers) and all tabs clicked will refer to their information.

~ Matches - This page shows you the matches you have played and the scores

~ My Leagues - Refers to the name of your group that you are registered to play in

By clicking on the my leagues you are find an event list. This will let you know what groups are playing in Grip N Rip

~ My Ladder - This is for the Junior Challenge Ladder.

~My Lessons - Just disregard this tab

***Entering Scores

On the Scheduled Matches page you will find that you can enter your scores. Under the ACTION is a picture of a paper and pencil. Click on this to report your scores.

To Enter Scores The Winning Team must be displayed in the top to Boxes, or you will receive an error message. If you are entering scores, and your name is in the bottom and you won, you must change the order by using the drop down button and changing the names to yours. You must then change the names in the bottom rows to the team you played. Make sure that the Winner button is highlighted. Enter the scores and then click save and exit. If you make a mistake you can go back and Edit the scores only. Do NOT DELETE. This will wipe the match out of the system If this happens you must notify the Grip N Rip administrators to correct the problem

If you click on a group link on several of the pages that have it, you will be taken to the standing page for your group. This ties into the View Events page.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR JUNIORS

When you sign into Leagues for Fun you will be on your Profile Page (the Icon) "My Profile" is in the Upper Right corner). Note the "Played Matches" Tab is highlighted.

The 9 Yellowish Tabs pertain to your information and the Grip N Rip League

You will only need to concern yourselves with Edit, Played Matches,& My Ladders,

~ Edit- On this page you can edit any of your personal information and change your access password. We prefer you leave your phone number and email address shown for the Grip N Rip League to work. We are a web-based league and need to see this in order to set up matches. E-mails will be sent regardless of what info is shown. If you do not show a phone number, you are responsible for making contact! This is not a secured website but is password protected.

~More Information - This is just more information on you.

~Availability - Enter when you are available. To check when others are available, click on their profile, click availability. You can then determine if you should play this match according to available times. Not everyone will fill this out, some do. You should look here if you are ready to challenge someone.

~ Affiliations - Show what leagues you are affiliated with inside the Leagues for Fun system.

~ Matches This is highlighted when you sign in and becomes part of your profile page. This page shows the matches you have played and the scores

~ My Leagues - Refers to the name of your Ladder that you are registered to play in

~My Ladders -This shows the names on the ladder for Grip N Rip. Click on the current ladder to see the actual ladder.

~ Ladder Page - This is the actual Junior Challenge Ladder. Click here to make a challenge. Note the legend: Available players will have "challenge" highlighted next to their name. O is out of range. P is pending. Click on "challenge" and you have initiated an e-mail request for a challenge to that opponent. Click "BACK" if an error was made. Proceed by entering a suggested date and send your request. No matter what date you put here, it will set a date one week from date e-mail is sent to complete match. You will both receive a copy of the challenge letter. On this page you will see a Match Results and a Player Standing tab. Look to see where you stand on the ladder

~Alerts: When you initiate a challenge you will return to your profile page under "challenge". Note the flashing Alerts next to the yellow tabs far left. You are involved in a challenge. See the red highlight?! If this is incorrect, you have not entered scores to complete a match. If you incorrectly made a challenge, e-mail the administrator IMMEDIATELY Click on Alerts for date of match, the suggested date you initially used in the e-mail is what shows here.

You will now show a "P" next to your name for pending match if you "view ladder".

***Entering Scores

Click My Ladders tab. Under Action: Click on record Match

To enter scores The Winning person’s name must be displayed in the top box only or you will get an error message. Use the drop down button to set winner first on top. Highlight winner button. You must then change the name in the bottom row to show the loser. Enter the scores and then click save and exit. If you make a mistake you can go back and Edit the scores only. Do NOT DELETE. This will wipe the match out of the system. If this happens you must notify the Grip N Rip administrators to correct the problem.

If you play a 3rd set Tiebreaker, enter it into the system as 7-6.

The advantage of using Leagues for Fun, is that the ladder is automatically set when matches are completed and scores are entered. You will always see where you are on the ladder. You may also have some choice in whom you would like to challenge. This is an honor system. Be sure to check that your opponent has posted the correct scores. If you have any technical problems, or lose Internet connections, contact the Grip N Rip Administrators immediately.
