            Women's League Rules And Regulations

  

Teams
Registration is $20.00 per person. You must register with a double's partner.
Players must be 18 years of age or older.
Teams must state one home court.
Teams must assign one player as primary contact person.

Registration is done through PayPal or mail entry.  Please see the registration page for more information.

Level Placement
Placement in each division is based on USTA, ALTA, and self rating.
Final placement will be determined by Grip N Rip Administration.

Levels of Play
There are several divisions of play. Each division will be competitive within itself

Format
Women's weekday league will consist of 5-6 weeks of scheduled double's match play. Match play will take place Monday through Friday mornings. One match will be played each week with scheduled default times. Scheduled match assignments will be available on the web as posted on the registration page  (www.leaguesforfun.com) It is the player's responsibility to set up each match date and time with opponents. Match location will be assigned.

OverLap of ALTA/USTA

Although some seasons we will overlap some of the ALTA or USTA season, You are committing to play the full 5-6 week season with us.  It is not fair to the others who are ready to play.   If you feel you cannot play,  please utilize our subs or one of your own.  

General Rules
1. WOMENS WEEKDAY LEAGUE will play Monday - Friday mornings.  WOMENS WEEKEND LEAGUE will play on Weekends and evenings. You may play at other times, but all four players must agree.
2. For both leagues a week will be defined as starting on Monday and ending on Sunday.
3. Match schedules may be accessed on the web. (www.leaguesforfun.com)
4. Play will be for 5-6 weeks.  (Number may vary depending on league)
5. Players have one scheduled match per week. Please make every effort to play your scheduled match during the week it is assigned.
6. Matches may be played ahead of schedule.
7. The USTA Rules and Code of Conduct governs match play. No coaching or outside interference allowed.
8. Matches will be best two out of three sets 
9. Home player to provide a new can of USTA approved balls. (No exchange of balls)
10. Players are responsible for contacting each other by Thursday of the preceding match week. Don't wait for your opponents to call. Everyone is responsible to schedule each and every match.
11. Home players must sign up for court time.
12. Winners must e-mail scores in by week's end. 

Primary Contact
For the ease of scheduling, phone team's primary contact first. This will be denoted with a * by their first name.   If primary contact can't be reached, then phone primary contacts partner.

Rating Guidelines

New Players:
1.  New players with an existing USTA rating may self rate your team.  Use your team's average to determine placement level.  (If your rating is a 3.0 and your partner is a 2.0, then your team rating would be a 2.5)
2.  Your team's level of play can not be lower that the lowest player's USTA rating.
3.  You may request a higher level of plan than your team's average. 
4.  Players without an existing USTA rating may self rate using the USTA  NTRP levels of play. 

    
Returning Players:
1.  Teams with a winning percentage of 73% or greater will be moved up to the next level of play. 
2.  Teams with a winning percentage less than 30% should request to be move down one level.

Week 1- Friday of week 2 @ 9:00am
Week 2- Friday of week 3 @ 9:00am
Week 3- Friday of week 4 @ 9:00am
Week 4- Friday of week 5 @ 9:00am
Week 5- Friday of week 6 @ 9:00am
Week 6- Friday of week 7 @9:00am
Week 7- Wednesday of week 8  @9:00am


Default Dates for Weekend

Week 1- Sunday of week 2 @ 2:00pm
Week 2- Sunday of week 3 @ 2:00pm
Week 3- Sunday of week 4 @ 2:00pm
Week 4- Sunday of week 5 @ 2:00pm
Week 5- Sunday of week 6 @ 2:00pm
Week 6- Sunday of week 7 @ 2:00pm

Substitutions
Substitutions will be allowed.   The substitute must be of equal or lower playing ability. Permanent subs must be approved by league administrators.  Players must find their own subs. The sub can be anyone, someone who is in the league or another player of comparable ability not in the league. 

Defaults/Forfeits
1. Defaults and forfeits  Two(2) in a  session can result in suspension from the league. 
2. Default time will be 20 minutes after scheduled start time. Please be courteous to your opponents.
3. If several attempts have been made to contact your opponent and you have heard no reply by Tuesday of match week, then contact league administrators.

Court Fees
1. If there are any court fees, the Home team is responsible to pay all fees. 


Agreement of Match Day/Time
If players can't agree on match day and time, try playing during the default week.  If you cant agree on a time within the 2 weeks, please contact the coordinator. Please try using a sub within the time allowed before requesting an extension.  The goal is to play.. not forfeit

Illness/Injury
If you need to reschedule your match due to illness or injury, you may call your opponent 24 hours in advance and ask to reschedule. The opposing team may opt to reschedule or take the point by forfeit. Remember that substitutes are allowed.

Inclement Weather
If it is raining, match play may be cancelled without players showing up to courts. A call must be made to opponents to cancel play due to rain. (Please exchange cell phone numbers prior to play.) If play is interrupted by rain, snow etc. then players may reschedule. Players may cancel play and reschedule match if temperature is below 32 degrees or above 98 degrees.

Situations not covered under these rules will be settled by Grip N Rip League Administrators.
